Role Overview:
Our client, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) to design and develop mechanical systems for exciting building projects, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
This Position is based in: Quatre Bornes, Plaines Wilhems District, Mauritius
Candidate must be flexible to work odd hours when required and hold a valid driver’s license and be a Mauritian citizen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) for various building projects.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable practices to optimize energy usage and environmental impact.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, structural, environmental engineers) for holistic solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Present concepts and solutions clearly to clients, simplifying complex ideas.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support during project implementation.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure designs align with project specifications.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for project milestones.
- Support training or mentoring of junior staff as needed.

- Deliver designs on time and within project budgets.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and design records.
- Achieve client satisfaction through effective communication and innovative solutions.
- Ensure sustainable design practices are consistently applied.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design.
- Creative problem-solving and a focus on sustainable engineering.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, project management, and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and health and safety practices.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within building services or mechanical consultancy.
- Professional registration with CRPE is an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Flexible to work odd hours when required.
Remuneration:
Rs30,000 – Rs60,000 (Basic Salary + Car Allowance + Travelling Allowance, depending on experience).
